As
we age, our skin undergoes all sorts of changes. The underlying tissue
that keeps the skin supple–collagen and elastin–weakens. The skin loses fat, making it look thinner and less smooth. In addition, the skin becomes drier, causing it to flake and itch. And then there’s
gravity, which takes its unrelenting toll, pulling at the skin and
making it wrinkle and sag.
You can’t stop your skin from aging, but you can slow down the process. And there’s even better news: You can take steps — none of which involve invasive surgery — to tighten and rejuvenate skin that’s
already tired and wrinkled.
At Zel, we offer a wide variety of exciting non–invasive treatments for revitalizing aging skin, including those listed below. For the most individualized and effective results, we often recommend combining two or more of these treatments.
Botox: Injections of botulinum
toxin type A (Botox) can help reduce facial lines and wrinkles, particularly
the deep creases between the eyes and on the forehead and the smaller “crow’s feet” lines
on either side of the eyes.
Chemical Peels:
Because no skin is the same, Zel offers several
types of chemical peels, from mild glycolic–, lactic– and fruit–acid treatments
to deeper peels. In addition to reducing fine lines, peels help lighten the “age” spots
that often accompany wrinkles; they also moisturize dry, rough skin.
Dermal Fillers:
A variety of dermal fillers can reduce or
even eliminate all sorts of wrinkle problems, from nasal labial folds (the
lines from the nose to the mouth) to those deep “marionette” creases between
the mouth and the chin. Zel offers many different dermal fillers, including
Restylane, Radiesse, Juvederm, CosmoDerm and CosmoPlast.
Laser Therapy:
Laser energy is used to remove the upper layers of age–damaged skin. As new cells form during the healing process, the skin appears smoother and younger looking. Zel offers several state–of–the–art laser treatments.
Medical Skin Care Products: Scientific
advances have led to the development of highly effective skin care products
for correcting and repairing sun– and age–damaged skin. Some, such as alphahydroxy acids (AHA), are prescription–only
products. Others, sometimes known as “cosmeceuticals,” do not
require a prescription, but because of their effects on the physiology of
the skin, are only offered through physicians. Zel carries only the best
of the best within these product lines.
Microdermabrasion/Vibradermabrasion:
Both of these non–surgical treatments rejuvenate your skin cells, improving their texture and elasticity, diminishing fine lines and lightening areas of darker pigmentation. Microdermabrasion uses the gentle abrasive action of micro–crystals to slough off dead skin cells. Vibradermabrasion uses a mildly abrasive stainless–steel
paddle to vibrate the skin, which exfoliates the cells. Both procedures also
help enhance the penetration powers of chemical peels.
Phototherapy (Intense Pulsed Light Treatments): This technique
uses pulses of visible light to stimulate the formation of new collagen, producing
healthier, younger–looking skin. In addition to improving the skin’s texture, the treatment minimizes enlarged pores, diminishes “age” spots and other irregular pigmentation, and reduces facial redness and visible blood vessels. One of Zel’s popular combination treatments is light therapy with an “ALA boost.” ALA
is a topical serum that helps intensify the effects of the light therapy, resulting
in positive results with fewer treatments.
Ultherapy: The ultrasound energy stimulates the growth of new collagen, and over time a natural tightening, firming and lifting of the skin occurs. |
